Stacey and I have been best friends since we were 8, and I don’t remember a time when she wasn’t dancing, performing or teaching. In our Grade 8 yearbook she even listed “own a dance studio” as her career aspiration. It is this passion, determination and genuine love of dance that has made her so successful and I couldn’t be prouder to watch my friend living out her childhood dream. But it is about so much more than that for her. She loves all of the kids that enter the studio and truly cares about their well being, happiness and success. Stacey’s main goal is not to turn all of her students into professional dancers. It is to provide them with the life skills and experiences that they will take with them as they grow up; confidence, perseverance, teamwork, empathy, determination and living a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle. Stacey embodies all of these traits and she always has. I have been lucky enough to see this first hand, as both of my daughters dance at Dancers. As a member of the Competitive Team for the past 3 years, I have seen my oldest daughter grow in so many ways. She has become a confident, resilient, supportive and determined little girl, who is developing friendships and memories that will last her a lifetime. In this time, the most special memory for me was having my best friend choreograph my daughter’s first solo. Seeing their relationship grow in a whole new way meant so much to me. I couldn’t ask for a better “second mom” for my girls. And that’s truly what this team is all about. Our Dancers family is a major part of my family’s life and sharing these years with Stacey and our daughters means more to me than she will ever know.
The impact of Dancers Burlington has been significant and invaluable. The girls have learned discipline, perseverance, dedication, teamwork, compassion for others, leadership, time management skills, work ethic, passion and the importance of physical health through their experience at Dancers. At Dancers, Maddie and Samantha have made lifelong friends and mentors. Friends who they have stressed with, argued with, laughed with, and cried with. Friends who know one another better than most people will have the opportunity to experience. Friends who are family. Are we crazy for the time and dedication we have given Dancers Burlington over the years? We would have been crazy not to.
The best decision I ever made was to have my daughter join Dancers at the age of 2 1/2 and moving to competitive at age 4. We are so proud to be a part of this family. It has been amazing to be able to watch all these wonderful dancers grow into beautiful, independent, confident young ladies. The faculty of Dancers have taught them so much – it is so much more than just the beautiful art of dance. It is about hard work, confidence, discipline and believing in yourself. They have taught them that, no matter what, they can achieve anything they put their minds to, and how to be the BEST version of themselves. My daughter, along with her fellow dancers, have built friendships filled with love, kindness and respect that will last a lifetime. The support and love they show each other is beyond anything I could express in words. I am so grateful to the faculty. My daughter is so very lucky to be surrounded by so many strong, compassionate and inspiring influences to her life. Thank you is not enough. I will never be able to express how truly grateful we are for you and all that you do.
