DB & COVID-19

Together, our community is facing a truly unprecedented situation. The past months have been trying for all of us and we appreciate your support as we continue to navigate this new normal.

Dancers Burlington is dedicated to fostering children’s self- esteem, confidence and strong work ethic, promoting student-growth while providing high-quality dance education – our values are unwavering during this time and continue to guide everything we do.

As the current climate surrounding COVID-19 continues to evolve, DB remains here for you every step of the way. We are committed to providing you the very best in dance education and programming for the our 2021-2022 season.

Please see the following documents which have guided the creation of DB’s very own COVID-19 Playbook. Clients will receive a copy of our Playbook prior to the season beginning in September.

The DB COVID-19 Playbook was created based on the best practices and guidelines suggested by the World Health Organization and Health Canada, and by referring to the “Return to Work” document found below. For more information, please see the below document.

Proper cleaning, disinfecting and sanitization are important to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. The DB COVID-19 Playbook details sanitization protocols that are in place to help ensure a safer return to the studio for all. The creation of these protocols were based on the best practices and guidelines suggested by the World Health Organization and Health Canada, and by referring to the “Cleaning and Disinfecting Your Premises” document found below. For more information, please see the below document.

A wellness screening questionnaire must be submitted prior to being allowed into the facility. The questionnaire below guided the creation of our very own screening questionnaire which is included in the DB COVID-19 Playbook.

In short, DB has taken the following steps to make your return to the studio safer:

• Increased cleaning and disinfection frequency
• Installation of hygiene stations throughout the studio
• As Health Officials recommend Proper Hand Washing as the best form of defence against COVID-19 to stop the spread of germs, we have implemented a new washroom hygiene program, including touch-free paper towel dispensers, covered toilet paper dispensers, and an automatic close cartridge soap dispenser system.
• Staggered start/end times to ensure social distancing
• Markers on the floor/ground to ensure social distancing
• Installation of an air care system in the front and back lobbies that dispense an advanced, concentrated, CFC-free aerosol formula to neutralize unpleasant odours at the molecular level.
• Installation of JADE, medical-grade air purifier which use a 6-stage purification process and are proven to remove almost 100% of air pollutants, viruses, bacteria and fungus that are present in indoor air.
• Use of a vital oxide fogger (a hospital-grade disinfectant) to assist in sanitization between classes
• Rigorous disinfection efforts especially in “high-touch areas” using a hospital-grade disinfectant
• 6×6 ft grid in the studios to ensure social distancing while in class and markers to indicate individual dancing spaces
• The mandatory completion of screening questionnaires for all dancers and staff prior to entry to the studio

DB remains fully committed to doing everything we can to support you during this time and, on behalf of all of us at DB, we’re committed to being your choice in dance education and persevering together in all the days and years ahead.
