Emily Brown

Emily Brown, currently based out of New York City, trained in all styles of dance growing up in Northern Virginia. She performed with Debbie Allen at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in two of her original productions, “Dancing in the Wings” and “Alex in Wonderland”, and had the honor of performing in Italy and Spain, at the Prix d’Italia and the Prix d’Espana, with The Junior American Dance Company under the directorship of Mark Marino. She was also a top 34 finalist in Season 4 of Fox TV’s “So You Think You Can Dance”.
While obtaining her BFA in Dance from George Mason University, she performed works by Mark Morris, Ohad Naharin, Christopher d’Amboise, David Parsons, Susan Shields, Bill T. Jones, Doug Varone, and Martha Graham.
She is a current company member of contemporary dance companies MarInspired, under artistic director, Marinda Davis, Derek Mitchell Dance Company, CATastrophe! Dance, with artistic director, Cat Cogliandro, Koin & Co, with artistic director Ali Koinoglou, and also The Difference Between Company, with artistic director, Talia Favia.
Emily has performed multiple times at the Capezio A.C.E awards, Carnival, Sybarite, and Broadway Underground in NYC and LA. Emily has had performance opportunities with Michelle Dorrance, Derrick Grant, Jared Grimes, Jason Samuel Smith, Chloe Arnold, Cat Cogliandro, Derek Mitchell, Talia Favia, and Marinda Davis. She has also had the opportunity to perform a tap and contemporary duet alongside spoken word poet, Sekou Andrews, at the TEDMED convention at The Kennedy Center.
Emily Brown teaches and choreographs internationally, and is also on faculty with the intensive “Power Pak”. She is currently a professional dancer, as well as dance teacher/choreographer, based out of New York City.
