Tap Dance is a timeless art that combines dance and percussion. Tap Dance classes explore the two traditions of rhythm tap (hoofing) and Broadway tap.  Tap dancing is a blend of syncopated rhythm which emphasizes footwork and the expression of rhythm through sound.

Dancers Burlington will be offering the following Tap classes for the 2016-2017 season:

Junior 1 Tap: This lively program introduces our youngest tap dancers to the fundamentals of this challenging dance form. Designed for dancers aged 5 to 7 with no previous Tap experience, this class helps to develop rhythm, coordination and agility.

Junior 2 Tap: This class is designed for dancers aged 6 to 8 years who have one or two years of previous Tap experience. This class will challenge dancers to apply technique, terminology and rhythm in exciting footwork and choreography that is sure to excite each and every dancer.

Intermediate 1 Tap: This Intermediate beginner class offers and introduction to the fundamentals of Tap. Designed for dancers aged 8 to 11, this class helps to develop rhythm, coordination and agility.

Intermediate 2-3 Tap: Intermediate 2 Tap is designed for dancers aged 8-11 with previous Tap experience. This class will focus on developing dancers’ rhythm, coordination and agility.

Intermediate Advanced Tap: This class is suitable for dancers aged 8 to 11 who have Tap experience and are looking for an additional challenge in technique and footwork. Focusing on dancers’ rhythm and coordination, this class is sure to challenge and engage.

Teen Tap: Our Teen Tap class is a fun-filled and exciting class that has dancers participating in a challenging yet engaging activity on a weekly basis. Dancers will develop rhythm, musicality and coordination and will be challenged with intricate footwork and fast-paced choreography.
